Ok, the first thing you will notice is that the rules stretch to somewhere around pages. Darklands is most certainly not a game that makes any compromises on content in the name of simplicity. While the core game is fairly straightforward, it really is up to you how much more you take from it. Hoping for that on a first go is of course unrealistic but the longer the edition can go without sequential edition creep the better. See Warhammer 40k for what I would rather not happen.
